Dear All,

My mother is on Faslodex, and she just developed a pretty bad rash on her back.  Has anyone dealt with this situation?  Any recommendations?

YoungTurk, I developed a large rash around the injection site the one time I forgot to take an antihistimine before my shots. Your mother might want to try taking one now. Also, let the onc  know.

    All the best.

I had no problems with the first injection, but severe hives with the second.  I saw an allergist who thinks it might be due to the castor oil in the formulation.  If the shot is intramuscular then there should be no problems, but some of the drug leaks into the fat where it causes histamine release and hives.  I have to get antihistamines prior to my next shot and sit in a monitored setting for a few hours.  Ice helps the rash, but be careful as severe allergic reactions can occur.

If you experience any adverse reaction or SEs from treatments yiou should contact your Doctor or Oncologist ASAP as they need to be aware and advise you on remedy or to stop taking treatment. SEs can get worse and be dangerous.

I, too, have just notice a rash near the injection site after my second initial dose.  What's strange is that it appeared 7 days after the injection.  It looks like a giant mosquito bite.  Does anyone know how long it lasts?
