Alternative to Femara

Hello all, I am looking for advice on any alternative to Femera. I took Tamoxifen for the first 5 years after chemo and rads treatment, finished that and Dr put me on Femera and have so many aches and pains in my body and joints and have also gained almost 30 pounds and feel miserable from the weight gain, fatigue and how I feel on a day to day basis.  I joined the gym and worked out several days a week and starting eating healthier and would drop a couple pounds only to put it back on within a couple of days.  I don't know what else to do, but definitely plan on talking to my Dr about maybe taking something else or going off it for a bit to see if this helps me.  

Oh also had a bone density test and shows that I am already showing signs of bone loss from the meds as well. Any advice will be welcoming.  Thank you in advance.

Hello genuineme, and welcome to Breastcancer.org. We're sure you'll hear from other members about their experiences with Femara and different Aromatase Inhibitors, but in the meantime, check the linked section of the main Breastcancer.org site for more info. 

The very last paragraph on that page includes this statement that looks as though it may well apply to you:  

"If you're experiencing side effects from taking one aromatase inhibitor
medicine, tell your doctor. You may be able to take a different
medicine. Arimidex and Femara have similar chemical structures, while
Aromasin has a different structure."
