I was particularly struck by how many diagnoses are dependant on physical exam rather than testing. Thanks for posting.

Having had a whole platoon of docs feel up my boobs and axilla on numerous occasions, it has become very clear to me that there is a vast range of skill in this area. Also, some docs ask more careful and intelligent questions than others.

A lot of gynecologists will admit that, unless you are very thin, and sometimes not even then, they can't really feel your ovaries on the bimanual portion of the pelvic exam.

I googled it & found it. I agree 100%. I get my care at a teaching hospital through their clinics and am irked no end by the internal medicine residents sitting staring at the computer & never touching me.
