Saying goodbye to Anacortesgirl with a little humor

I confess to still owning a flip phone. In fact, it is a brand new flip phone because last Friday I accidentally dropped my old flip phone into a bucket of liquid fertilizer (the same bucket I  use to mix up my Knock You Naked Margueritas on my cancerversary after a good scrubbing out). I went to the Verizon store and surreptitiously slipped some of the larger, squarer and much hipper models into my bra, the side with my reconstruction, but with their larger size and squarer shape, they did not cuddle up as nicely to my foob. I was concerned I might be thrown in the slammer for shoplifting, but I was left alone to try on one model after another. Finally, I settled on another flip phone pretty much the same dimensions as my former eight year old one I had accidentally drowned and poisoned.

This archaic choice would have been pretty unnecessary if women's slacks were still made with pockets, but increasingly I have pocketless clothing. My friends and family and clients are all horrified when my phone rings and I reach down my top and yank out my flip phone, and they often ask if aren't I concerned about all that radiation being emitted from the phone? I assure them that horse left the barn a long time ago.

So here's to you Christy, my old stage 3 friend: you know you are a cancer patient when you shop for a cell phone that will do well nestled up to your foob. Will miss you, Weesa

My favorite donut shop in the world is located in Anacortes so when I am there next and either stop in or drive by, I will think of you Christy.  You never mentioned donuts or liking the place but I will forever associate my favorite place, my little slice of heaven, in Anacortes.  RIP dear Christy.

Wow, I was so sorry to hear about Christy.  We started here around the same time and had much in common.  Her humor and her graciousness will be missed.   I hope her thread lives forever on these boards.

I was really gutted to hear about Christy. She went pretty quickly once the metastasis came on. Didn't she only move to the Stage IV board last year?

Well, my bit of humor is that when I first saw her screen name, I thought she was Spanish...you know, Ana Cortes.

    Soar, Christy, soar!
