Surgery Date - BMX and DIEP reconstruction - June 10

This all happening pretty quick!  Which is great, but also not great (it still seems very surreal).  I want it done, but I also want more time to wrap my brain around it.  However, June 10 it is.   I am so very impressed with how quickly this has come together

March 28 - Breast reduction

April 23 - Post op visit - told about DCIS in right breast from pathology from operation, met with oncologist in the afternoon, discussed options

May 16 "(?) I think this was the date - Met with the PS to discuss DIEP reconstruction

May 20 - Mammogram/ultrasound

May 23 - surgery booked for June 10

May 27 - MRI

June 10 - surgery

Not sure how it is elsewhere, but for Ontario, this seems fast!  They initially said end of June, middle of July, but they had an opening and said they want it done sooner then later.

I was a bit weirded out with the mammo on Tuesday.  I was surprised they did it, as I thought they only said they would do the MRI.  It didn't matter, but they did the normal 4-6 images on the left, but did what seems a dozen or two more on the right where the DCIS is.  i was doing some weird contortions it seemed to get the machine in the right spot, and then had a long u/s afterwards.  I'm sure it's normal to be so thorough, but it felt like they were finding "more".  But, I also had a reduction, so I'm sure it wasn't neat in there (not sure if that is the right ay to put it).

The detailed info on the reconstruction was helpful, but a bit overwhelming, 12 hours of surgery? I get it's microvascular and that is the reason, but that is a long time!

Now, making arrangements for the kids while I'm gone and after I come home. 

I'm ready to be done, and onto the next stage of life!  I am so glad it's early, but it's starting to hit how "real" this all still is.  BMX is pretty radical surgery so is the DIEP construction.

I will be relieved to get the final pathology and know that all is officially good!
