I had a left breast mastectomy.  I was diagnosed withT1bN0 stage one.  Could somebody please tell me what T1bN0 means?

Now I am really confused.  The ultrasound showed a 1.5 cm tumor, and if I add my .9cm biopsy to the 4.5mm of cancer remaining after the biopsy I get 1.35cm.  I guess I will have the oncologist review the ultrasound and explain measurements to me.

The ultrasound was likely not accurate. The pathology after surgery would be more accurate and the b stand for a tumour under 1cm so good news. :-)

u can get your Oncologist - u will have either two or three. There secretary will be able to give u a copy of your records. I have just statrted but keep everything in the sane place.

My post lumpectomy report said T1cN0. Mine measured 1.5cm but surgeon was still very pleased with that result

My tumor report was:  pT1cNO

The surgical pathology is always the one you use.  There may have been some DCIS component in yours but the invasive part is designated by the TNM grading. That is the p is the  pathological (physical)  tumor as opposed to a clinical (viewing). In mine,  1c denotes the size of the tumor is larger than 1 centimeter but smaller than 2cm. N0 is zero Nodes involved. Mine stops there as there were no metastasis.(spread beyond the breast and nodes.) Don't confuse the pathological grading of the tumor with the grading of your stage. Hope that helps.
