It is not the Radiology Clinic's fault that you did nothing for 2 yrs even though during those 2 yrs the 'pea sized lump' grew to a 'grape sized lump'.

With some cancer they do take years to developed but NOT with all types or all individuals.  Cancer does not follow rules that are written - it makes it's own rules with each of us and with the different types.  It is up to each of us to be our own best Advocate in all health issues and be proactive.   The idea that all BC is there for 2 - 5 yrs is wrong.  In some cases in some, it's possibly true but not all.  In some cases, days/weeks/ months are critical.  For me, I had a usual/normal annual mammo in late June with no HX of any breast issues but Aug 8, I was DXd IBC Stage III.  Bottom line is - it's our body so our responsibility to fight for it, not ignore or blame others when we do nothing.

I do sincely hope that you will become more proactive with TX from here on - the past can not be changed, but future is open for us to do all we can to fight while having learned from the past.

lil mama, I have lobular cancer, it is referred to the "sneaky" breast cancer. It grows in lines and does not usually form a lump.

Bottom line, mammograms miss a lot. If you have dense breast tissue, it is difficult to see stuff. As consumers, we expect the health care to be 100% on top of everything. That is not the case. They try, but cancer is very difficult to find & see. I was very pro-active, had a exam by a Dr. And was diagnosised stage 3 a few months later.

We hear of, sadly, women who do everything right and are dx with stage 4 right from the get go.

Good luck with your treatments, lots of support on this website.
