Hi, I will be six months out from a lumpectomy as of next month. I refused the therapies after the lumpectomy and considering everything that has been going on the past few months, I do not regret my decision one iota. I have had a terrible time recovering from the surgery due to anemia going in. First came these horrendous hot flashes (2-3 every hour 24/7), lack of appetite, horrible sugar cravings, muscle and joint pain, nausea and fatigue. It was almost as though I had taken the therapies anyway! Well, the hot flashes finally dwindled and went away as of last week (weird) but I am light-headed, have lots of aching in my joints and muscles, have gained weight since I don't have the energy to exercise. The fatigue shows no signs of letting up either. What the heck? My PCP has not been of much help, telling me that these symptoms are due to the anemia and it may take up to a year to resolve. Is anyone else walking the same trail as me? I would love to hear from you, as I feel very isolated right now and have no desire to burden my healthy friends with my issues.
