LCIS bilateral MX and Hormone Replacement Therapy

This is a question for ladies who had LCIS and nothing more and also bilateral MX.

I had lcis, and bilateral and now am wondering if HRT is allowable in my case.  My breast surgeon says I can, with the usual provisions - lowest dose for shortest time.  He thinks my risk is probably less than an average woman as I have no breasts and didn't have "cancer", only LCIS.

Has anyone talked to their doctors about this subject?  It's a tricky and rare case, I realize.

    Hi Beacon,

I had bilateral MX 2 years ago for atypical ductal and lobular hyperplasia--the MX biopsy reports showed LCIS throughout both breasts. I then had a hysterectomy and ovary removal 4 months later. I have been on the Vivelle Dot for 2 years with permission of the Gyn Oncologist and the Breast Surgeon and refuse to do without the patch! Hot flashes were terrible, osteoporosis abounds and I was not myself at all post hysterectomy. Hope this helps.
