After DX, Changes in Skin, Common or Worrisome?

After my initial 6, basically hormonal chemo treatments, I've had 2 rounds of FEC chemo. Today I noticed my breast tissue around the nipple has gotten darker and the area is again getting sort of flat. My very recent MAMMO/ULTRA showed that 2 of 3 masses had disappeared and the 3rd had shrunk from 2.5 cm to .11mm. My breast is nowhere as inverted as it was when I was DXed. Never had a skin punch as scar tissue was present in the only skin area which appeared iffy.

Any opinions on my best course of action? Next chemo is 5/13. I haven't hit the panic (or even very worried) stage yet, but I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Thanks for any insight,

bride

Sounds to me like the 'best course of action' is to keep on with what is working good!   I'd be doing a 'Happy Dance' as it sounds like the chemo is doing what it should - attacking the Monster.

In the 17 days between DX and starting A/C, 'IT' had rapidly progressed but by the time of 2nd DD A/C, instead of just the general 'area', a 'lump' that could be felt was forming.  By the end of 4 A/C, the 'lump' was better formed and smaller, node much smaller, nipple only very slightly (if at all) inverted and peau d'orange lessened.   2 weeks after last A/C, I had UMX.  Simplistically put- my Drs wanted to go ahead and 'get it out' so Taxol (12 weekly) would only have to deal with any cells not gotten iin surgery - not the entire Monster still there.  I know most do 2 neoadjuvant chemo pre MX instead of neoadjuvant and adjuvant as I did.  It made sense to me.  Must have been what was right for me - Aug will be 5 yrs since DX and as far as I know today, I'm still NED.

I did not have a skin punch either.  There was no skin issues visiable at DX time.  The enlarged node and some 'suspicious' areas were biopsied via FNB.

Again - sounds like the last thing you should do not is 'panic'!
