Exercising during tissue expanders

HI there!!!

I have my expanders in and am done with filling...My PS says no running???!!!  Did you ladies exercise? Any restrictions?

I am a fitness instructor and I exercised with TE's.  I did not do a lot of upper body stuff.  I did some light weights for shoulders, biceps and triceps.  I did do the elliptical a lot with no issue.  I also worked with a physical therapist to help loosen me up.  It was covered under insurance and I am glad I did it.  I did not run during that time.  I did go back to teaching aerobics about 1 month after I finished chemo when I still had my TE's.

I ran often with my TEs.  I use the term run loosely... If it faster than a walk, it's a run these days.  My PS never said not to, but he doesn't tell me a lot of things I should and should not do, so I would go with what your PS recommends.

I ran with my expanders and never had any restrictions with regard to exercise. But my PS is pretty laid back with instructions - he tells me all the time I won't damage anything.   I told him before my exchange that I was going to miss the TE's because they were like a built in sports bra.  He thinks I'm a little tapped. 

I agree you should listen to what your PS tells you.

I also use the term running loosely these days - my PS said it was ok.  

BUT - only your PS knows what he did inside YOUR chest... maybe he has his reasons.  Press him if it's that important to you....

I played a tennis match with mine in place. As long as I had on a sports bra it was fine.
