Burning Sensation on Tamoxifen

Hi. Has anyone had a burning sensation on their skin? Like a bad sunburn since taking tamoxifen? My upper back and the bottom of one of my forearms has this feeling. I started tamoxifen the first week of March and had a little of that starting then but it just seems worse now that I'm wondering if it is related? I didn't have this while getting radiation (finished that at the end of February) which is when I thought I would have?

    Hi,

I am wondering if you might be having some slight lymphedema. I sometimes get a very odd and painful feeling in the arm that I have that is affected - it does not necessarily seem to correspond with increased swelling. It sees like if it were related to Tamoxifen, it wouldn't be in specific areas.  Also - effects from RADS an happen months even years later.

I got checked out today by my CLT. It's not lymphedema. I made appt with my oncologist for next Monday. The gal on the phone said they had another patient who experienced burning skin sensation while on tamoxifen too. He'll probably be taking me off it soon since I've gone through/going through  menopause. Hope that's what is causing it for I haven't changed my vitamins, laundry detergent, lotion...

My first thought was like ziggypop, LE. How did the therapist decide it wasn't?

A drug holiday is certainly worth a try. If it goes away (and then starts again upon resuming the prescription), that makes a pretty good case for cause & effect.
