Hello, I had biopsy for left side one month ago and now I am waiting for MRI biopsy for right side. I read an article that it is much better to get the surgery within one month after biopsy. So, I am really worried becuase it wil take another 2 weeks to get the MRI biopsy result. Is there anyone who waited for surgery more than one month after biopsy?

Have you asked your physician or hospital?  Unfortunately, this varies from place to place.

My surgery was about 3 weeks after my biopsy.

I did not have surgery until almost two months after my biopsy.  I needed to wait for pathology results, further imaging, the plastic and oncological breast surgeon's schedules to mesh, Mammaprint results, and BRCA testing results.  It is not uncommon to wait for more than a month.  I was worried about this as well, but it is important to realize that most breast cancer has been there for quite some time and a few weeks is not likely to make a difference.

I am a woman in my twenties (so my cells divide quickly) and didn't begin treatment (in my case chemo), until 6 weeks after my biopsy as I did egg preservation first.  It's been six months since then and I am now done with treatment...almost 1 month cancer-free (a phrase that I obviously use with great caution, but also great optimism). So, that choice seems to have been okay.

That said, don't be afraid to push your doctors.  If you feel you've been waiting too long, get on the phone and don't be shy about asking for the treatment you feel you need on a timeline you are comfortable with.  You are your own greatest advocate.
