Star shaped tumor

Hi,

I saw the surgeons on Tuesday.  One surgeon mentioned that my 1.5 cm tumor was just the size of the round part.  That the tumor was star shaped and it was probably closer to 3 cm.

Does it make any difference if the tumor is round or star shaped?

Anyway the surgeons don't appear to be in any hurry to remove the tumor even though I have known for over a month, I still do not have a surgery date. They did not request more testing, they just say they are busy.

Is your surgeon a breast specialist? Have you had a biopsy? Star shaped or spiculated masses are suspicious. I would seek a second opinion. They will not know the true nature and size of the tumor until it is removed and the pathology is completed. good luck. xoxo
