Life after chemo

hi all

I have been diagnosed as triple positive and will have a port inserted April 29 with chemo starting April 30. My treatment is FEC-D followed by herceptin for approx 1 year then tamoxifen for 5-10 years

I've been thought the chemo class to educate me and had a tour of the chemo suite at the hospital so I know where I'll go for treatment

My MO told me that I am very healthy and he expects that ill be fine and he is of the opinion that all of the cancer was found. Up until now I've had no major health issues and rarely took a pill for anything.

I exercise 2-4 times per week at the gym and am fairly active. I am aware of the many side effects and understand that everyone is impacted differently.

What truly scares me are severe long term effects to the heart. I know that the medical team will watch me very closely but I want to be able to continue to be active and do things like travel

My DH and I are actually on vacation this week to celebrate each other prior to the start if my treatment yet I can't stop thinking if what is to come

I would appreciate anyone sharing how they find life after chemo treatment as your successes will be my inspiration!

 Thanks!!!!!!

Come over to the 'Lets Post Our Daily Exercise' thread on the Fitness Forum. A great group of ladies in all phases of treatment (including chemo) and beyond. Chemo is not fun, you just do the best you can do get through it, but you can live an absolutely wonderful, active, interesting, traveling, working, playing life post chemo. That is what I am doing! Smile
