Delayed reconstruction with implants, without TE's?

I am considering implant reconstruction, but don't want to do TE's again. I had my implants removed June 2012 due to infection and had to wait a minimum 9 months to have them replaced. It's now been almost 2 years and I'm ready, but hoping if I stay real small, it could be done in one step. Has anyone had an experience with this?

This would really depend on whether you still had skin flaps left, and even then that they were healthy/flexible enough. Even if you stay small, you need the skin flap to be there to accomodate the implant. I have seen a couple women who had implants removed for infection be able to get a new implant inserted a few months later, but they did have skin flaps left in place with this future plan in mind.

This is really something only your PS will be able to assess. I would look for ones experienced in one-step though to ask.

thanks Divecat for responding. I did see my PS and he said I could do that on the left side, but the right had rads and not much skin left. He wants to do a lat flap on right, possibly w/out implant. Now i need to think about that. I'm a massage therapist and need my strength, so I've been reluctant to even consider it in the past.
