Who has had implants removed then had a DIEP, GAP or PAP?

Thank you so much for your reply Mel2328. I love having the first hand experience. I am just having the left one done since it is the only one with the implant. The right size had a reduction. The doctor told me 5 days in hospital then 6-8 weeks recovery. I only stayed two days in the hospital back home after my mastectomy which was in Portland OR. I could have stayed a couple more really. I was in so much pain afterwards. So when the donor site starts to hurt, is it excrutiating? I am a little scared of having the two surgery sights. I do not have enough fat on my tummy for a B cup and I did not want the TUG because I am a runner. Do you still take pain medication? What is the best one that you have found. Is it really hard to go to the bathroom? Oh yeah, I will look up the go go sticks- I remember being so constipated last time. I am going to be ready this time. I am having a mammogram on the 23rd to make sure there is no lingering cells which freaks me out a little. I have only had ultra sounds on check ups. My surgery is set for April 8th. It is at a private clinic here in Zürich so I am anticipating a much different experience than at Kaiser. Talk soon.

I have not had my implant replaced..yet!!! I had a recent MRI as never had testing done of any kind since my BIL/MX back in 2009!! The MRI stated I have a ruptured, intracapsular rupture on right breast . It does not appear as such from the outside but I know it has to be looked at and to get educated on this and see what my options are! I am a triple negative,BRCA1 positive survivor and left all my DRS back in IL about 5 years ago since retiring to Tucson, Az. It has been a feat to get testing until now!!!Also getting the right DR's.
In the mix of things, this MRI led to a CT as they found a 1.6 cm on my superior right lobe of lung. CT shows now shows two nodules. I am dealing with this first and then find a good Surgeon for the implant and to know my options. At the time I had cancer, I was very underweight and now could consider DIEP, or the others I have not read up on.to know the names.
Thanks for your post and hope I can figure a safer and more agreeable life time surgery for this is nothing I want to go back to do AT ALL!
So grateful for this forum, always the best info and ladies to share with! Hope all are well and continuing to heal and live life!

Hello Donna, does the lobe in your lung mean cancer along with the 2 nodes? I am sorry to hear that after all these years. I am sure there are women who live in your area that will be able to suggest a good Flap surgeon.

Lunderwood : I'm from Longview 2 hour from Dallas. I have appointment with 2 plastic surgeons next week. Have you heard of Ricardo Meade or Paul Pin. Who are you seeing? I have been told I can do radiation BUT! this is my 2nd cancer in 2 years. 2 years ago left side idc. Last month they found dcis in right breast. No nodes involved.

I am so glad that I read your post and all the reply's you have had. I am just now three weeks out from having silicone implants. I thought I was crazy and that it must be me because everyone I have talked to say how great they felt and have not had any problems. I still feel like I did when I had the TE's just not quite as bad. It feels like they swell and expand and puffy under my arms. Does this go away in time? Appreciate any feed back,
