Thyroid surgery before mastectomy

so we have been putting off mastectomy becauseI have a hyper thyroid. (graves disease).
Just found out have to have surgery to remove thyroid so that I can go ahead and get breast surgery. I'm a little bummed about another surgery and another scar, but at the same time happy that we can finally get things started. Waiting has been terrible. Diagnosed in January. Oncologist already put me on tamoxifen to stop cancer from spreading while we've been waiting.
Has anyone else had thier thyroid removed?
