Radiation to right breast but left breast getting pinky?

Hi Ladies, I am getting right breast radiation post double-mastectomy and implant reconstruction. After seven session, the right breast is fine however half of the left breast is pinky and a bit itchy. I dismissed rad technician's explanation that this is not related to rads and might be caused by sweat and refused to get my next dose until I get an adequate explanation.

Did this happen to anybody?

Yes...not during the treatment but after it's still slightly pink

Ask the rad onc to look at it and give you an explanation.

With reconstructed breasts the way the breast falls to the side is different from the way a natural breast falls.  Did you have anything done to the reconstructed breast after the simulation for radiation treatment planning?

Both breasts are reconstructed and there were no changes whatsoever after simulation

I agree with you that I would not accept a dismissal from the rad tech and would want an assessment from the rad onc.

Turned out to be starting infection in the left breast. Started antibiotic and the color is back to normal.
