I was recently diagnosed with BRCA2 mutation and had BSO surgery about 10 days ago. Now I'm looking into PDM. I've met with a couple of plastic surgeons, Dr. Horton and Dr. Kind (who i liked best) but have also heard about very good plastic surgeons in NY. I've also met with BS Dr. Grissom.  I'm wondering if any of you have had experience with any of these doctors? Wondering if I should look in other states as well?

I had DIEP reconstruction immediately after my MX, and my surgeon in SF was Dr. Chang, who is in practice with Dr. Kind. He was wonderful. I was seen once in ICU by Dr. Kind after surgery, and I believe he was in on my surgery as well, as the billing showed both doctors charging for the surgery. I have been very pleased with my outcome. I only have the tattoo left to be done. They even negotiated wih my insurance since they were out if network, but work closely with my BS who is in network.

Dr. Nima Grisson is terrific.  She did my surgery and I just love her.  She really put me at ease when I was first diagnosed--I walked out of the appointment feeling like it was all do-able.

Hi I have had double mastectomy done by Dr. Grissom who I can confirm is just awesome. My plastic surgeons for DIEP flap reconstruction were Dr Horton and Buntic who did a great job. Of course there will be revision surgeries in the future but for now I am very happy.

Hi I had a BMX with immediate DIEP with the team of Dr. Grissom, Dr. Horton and Dr. Buntic and feel they did a great job. I traveled from out of state so did not have a lot of time with the doctors, however, feel very confident in their abilities and the results I have received so far.
