Punch biopsy - does it matter where sample is taken from?

Hi there!

I am currently presenting with IBC symptoms and infection was ruled out today. A punch biopsy was performed today and I am worried the doctor did not quite get the right spot. A new red spot appeared next to the original spot and that is the sample the doctor took. I am concerned that spot was just redness from my bra etc and that he should have done it slightly under that spot. My question is, if it happened to be the wrong spot, will that matter? Do cancer cells spread enough that he would have got them too? I know I sound really paranoid - he would have only been about half a centimetre off, but I guess I am paranoid! IBC is so aggressive I am terrified to be given the all clear if I am not.

Thanks!
