Hi Plils. Don't worry just yet. I'm the queen of UTI's and sometimes our bodies become resistant to certain antibiotics. I've had several infections that don't respond to the chosen antibiotic according to lab tests. I'd try a different antibiotic before I jumped to any conclusions. Also, it might be a good idea to add some cranberry extract capsules to make it easier to fight the next time. They're kind of pricey (for a good one), but worth every penny. Good luck to you. UTI's suck.
Eta: just wanted to add, I had to try THREE different antibiotics this last time before I had success.

I am ten years out from chemotherapy. I had multiple UTI's for a while. My doctor said at one point he might put me on a daily dose of antibiotics. I started taking cranberry extract twice daily and increased my yogurt intake to several times weekly. It seems to be working. It's not a cure if you have an infection, but seems to help prevent future infections. Another thing doctors seem hesitant to bring up is if you are sexually active, always empty your bladder after intercourse. Good luck to you.

Hi Arizonagirl,
Wow, so just what I have been going through. It all started in Oct 2014, I have had microscopic blood in my urine, 4 UTI's, adnormal urine cytology which the possibility of a low-grade papillary transitional tumor cannot be entirely excluded. Since I have had a normal cyctscopey, normal renal ultrasound on and off lower achy back, needed a nap everyday just have no energy yet today I check and still have microscopic blood and lucycites in my urine which has had a nutty weird smell and cloudy the whole time that is why I though something was wrong in the first place. I am really getting scared I have a tumor but because the cyctoscopye and renal ultrasound was normal I was told it was probably just a hormone problem. Help has anyone else been going through this.
