I think I previously posted here but there's new stuff and I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed.

I'm 62 years old - not even old enough to retire.

When I was in my 30s, I had Papillary Thyroid Cancer with a few nodes involved.

Then I was in my 50's, I had breast cancer. Details below.

Then I had my first colonoscopy and they found sessile serrated polyps (not good).

2nd colonoscopy they found more.

Doctor recommended genetic screening. Result: I have Chek2 (a defective tumor suppressor gene). This is a recently discovered genetic disorder which is associated with breast cancer and colon cancer. It is also related to thyroid cancer and they honestly don't know what other cancers it is related to. Statistically, I have a 20% chance of my breast cancer returning. I became pretty much resigned that I would die from cancer eventually.

3rd colonoscopy, they found more serrated polyps. I now have the diagnosis of Serrated Polyposis Syndrome.

4th colonoscopy - more polys.

2019: Surprise! I have Parkinson's disease, which is incurable.

I had planned on dying from cancer, not Parkinson's. Dementia terrifies me.

Annc2019, Would you tell me what your melanoma looked like and how large? I have a history of Basil cell and have a very scary looking spot. I sent a photo of it to my dermatologist. It is on my upper back/shoulder left side. Such a hard place to examine so it might have been there about 6 months. I saw the dermatologist last September. Thank you

well, I just got pathology on shave biopsy and #7 basal cell has to be excised via MOHS. Also had suspicious mole checked and it was frozen off. It looked like Melanoma but was not. 😊 Happy about that!

Still being monitored for the recalled Allergan implants. That fear is always in the back of my mind.

Mohs surgery is great. I had a fairly large basal cell on my face, right next to my nose. After the removal of cancerous cells, they had to cut from the bridge of my nose to the corner of my mouth, and a curve in my cheek like a reversed D, then the doctor twisted the cheek skin and pulled it to match up with the straight incision alongside my nose. I wound up with a LOT of stitches and a huge bandage over most of that side of my face. I thought it would look horrible forever, but it healed up in a couple of weeks and the scar was barely visible - and in another few weeks, you'd have to know it was there to find it. Those specialists are wizards!

I had melanoma removed exactly a year ago with a sentinel node biopsy (4 removed-all clear, dealing with new onset lymphedema) and am now scheduled for a breast biopsy with a BIRAD 4 U/S. My first thought was could I actually have had both at the same time? What the hell!? I'm 38 yo.

Caligirlyc, I had breast and kidney cancer at the same time. Sometimes crap happens that way.

Early stage non-small cell lung cancer found on follow up scan for pulmonary sarcoidosis 2018. Breast cancer 2019. New nodule in remaining part of left lung (4mm) found on last month’s scan. Rescanning in 6 months. Just hoping it doesn’t grow and trying not to worry. Telling myself that at one point all of my nodules ( I have several stable ones) were new.

I had breast cancer 2010 and then developed non-small cell lung cancer 3 years later. Lung cancer diagnosed stage 1B, now stage 4. Breast cancer appears to have been cured ( stage 1A, bilateral mastectomy, chemo, AI for 9 years), but one never knows with breast cancer. Had lobectomy twice and on Tagrisso. No evidence of disease at this time. (Also had melanoma 28 years ago,)
