How do you question or "correct" your doctor ?

I am having diarrhea more often with every treatment of taxol (only 4 so far). I told my doctor about it and she said taxol does not cause diarrhea. Seeing as how that's listed as one of the side effects, and many have experienced it, I was surprised. I didn't contradict her, just asked what to do about it. There are other things, such as when she didn't seem to know about a study that says L-glutamine might prevent neuropathy. She has a very good reputation as a MO, but sometimes I feel like my concerns about SE's are being dismissed. And she doesn't seem open to me sending her any information on things I have read. Any suggestions as to how I can broach these subjects or question her when I feel she is giving me wrong info? These are minor things but it doesn't instill confidence.
