I found my enlarged lymph node one night - it had not been there the night before.  My PA was on vacation so it took a week to see her.  That afternoon, she had me at radiology for a new mammo (last was less than 2 mths old), which turned into also a sono and biopsies while I was there.  I got a call the next morning at 8am with the path. results - as expected IBC.  Lots of appts with surgeon, chemo, rads and scans/tests/another biopsy, port implanted in the 17 days before my first A/C (chemo).

My TX plan was different than many/most have - I did neoadjucant and adjuvant chemo.  I did 4 DD A/C neoadjuvant, then as it had done it's 'job' getting it to form a 'lump' I had surgery 2 weeks after last A/C, I had a mast. with good margins (19 of 19 nodes positive).  3 weeks after surgery I started 12 weekly Taxol adjuvant.  A week after last Taxol, I started 25 rads.  A week after starting rads, I started Femara and will be on it 'forever'.

I can only speak for myself - my TX plan 'worked' for me - I'm 4+ yrs out (as far as I know at this minute) still NED!  I love life and will continue every minute to the best of my ability - doing all that I want to do and challenging my selfmtomdo more.

    Hello Kicks,

Your results sound good,i am 83 yrs old Dx with 111B IBC in 2013 and i am just finishing my chemo and about to start radiation,i think my results were good after my mastectomy, it read!  extensive chemo affect, No evidence of residual invasive ductal carcinoma, NO evidence of DCIS, 15 nodes removed with NO malignency...clear margins...  in your opinion are they good results?

everyone how did you know that it was ibc?did your report mention the word ibc? My mom was diagnosed idc, but her skin on the tumour site was red. Was it ibc? Or might because her tumor was so huge till it affected her skin?
