I read somewhere that women who used synthroid had an increased risk of bc. I don't remember where. I'll check it out and see if I can find the reference.

Thanks for this link and posting this topic.  I recently started taking Armour Thyroid medication after being hypothyroid for 2 years ( TSH levels between 4.5-5.5 ) when my TSH jumped to 10.  I refused to take Synthroid after reading numerous patients complained of side effects.  I need to research this more because I was taking an Iodine supplement at the time when my TSH level really spiked......

I'm thinking the odds are actually low! Most Synthroid users are women and if 1 in 8 get breast cancer in the regular population, then the odds of less than .008 with Synthroid are actually lower!

It's like saying "You eat American cheese and you got breast cancer; ergo, American cheese increases your risk for breast cancer". I am a Synthroid user and a breast cancer patient. I also take a multitude of other drugs.....

Barbe - I hear you. Honestly - I feel so much better since starting this thyroid medication that I wish my GP had considered sooner.
