Where can I find a fitter?

For over a year now, I've worn the lovely sleeve and glove. I'm not happy with the fit of the gloves that I've received, and now, after my third glove, I'm thinking I would really like to find a new fitter. Each time I order one, I have to return it several times to have it re-made, and each time, my fitter seems to see me as a nuisance. After the 2nd or 3rd  time per glove, I end up just "settling" and accept it, hoping for better luck the next time I have one made in 4 or 5 months.  The first glove I received was best, and I wore it until it was literally threadbare. The second glove I received was un-wearable even after several alterations because it was so tight, it was painful and cutting off circulation in my fingers. (thus I continued wearing my 1st one, making it threadbare). This latest glove is too short on 2 fingers. All 3 gloves result in bunching at the wrist, which I'm afraid is limiting the lymph flow. I have only one night sleeve, and from the beginning it was overly large at the top - floppy really. Is it supposed to be that way? Within 50 miles, I can only find one fitter for compression garments. When I do an internet search, I see therapists, but they all work for the same hospital, and refer to this one medical supply business for sleeves/gloves. Is there a data base somewhere I'm missing to find someone else who does fittings? Or does anyone do their own measurements for fitting? Advice please.

Talk to you CLET!   (I guess)

My CLET Guy is my fitter.  My hand is really weird - somewhat webbed and never knew it til needing garments.  It took quite a while for him to get it really 'right' for me but he can now order my new gloves and sleeves every 6 mths and they are great.

Maybe search for 'durable medical equipment' and call each one within reasonable distance, to see if they provide compression garments even though their name didn't pop up on a search for compression garments?  DMEs near me have people who fit garments.  Or --long shot-- can your insurance company tell you the names of garment vendors in your area that they reimburse?

    How frustrating for you!!

Just another thought after Carol's post. Call all the places listed in your phone book or on line for "Medical Supply" or similar words in your area   As I said my LE garments are through my my CLET Guy at VA but my mast. bras and pros. are through a local 'medical supply place'.   I live in the 'boonies' and there is only one Certified Fitter for mast. bras within over 300 miles.

My fitter is also at a medical supply company. I'm not having any luck finding a fitter locally. I didn't know if there was someplace I"m not looking that someone else might know of - a national database kind of thing. I also live in kind of a boonie area, but I can drive if that's my only option. I'm just leary of driving hundreds of miles in case I need to go back a couple of times for ill fitting garments again. Thanks for your responses!
