Bleeding after port removal

I just had my port removed, and noticed there is blood that has just appeared on the dressing. A few small spots and one larger one. Not soaking through but wasn't there right after the procedure. Has this happened to anyone else? It didn't happen to me when they put the port in. I assumed that the stitches close it off so there can't be bleeding, but I guess not completely! Argh. Hopefully it stops. Anyone had this happen?

If you are still bleeding and anxious about what is happening, call your doctor who removed it to let him/her know what is happening.  Call even though it may be after hours since your doctor should have an answering service or on call doctor to cover for emergencies.  It's okay.  I don't recall having any bleeding after I had my port removed.  I had a large bandage covering the sutures.  I do remember having a follow up appointment with my BS so he could check the sutures.  (BTW:  My BS is the one who put in my port and was the one who removed it.)
