Hi,

My name is Lisa, from Portugal. I am writing to
you because my mother is going through a triple negative IDC, Ki67 98% and 0 node, 19mm, margins clean, grade2. However we
have just received th bone exam and something showed up. It is in her
spine (the place were the first bone metastases normally appear). It can
be a lesion or a metastases we will only know when we do a pet scan... I
most admit I am terrified. Did you do a bone exam? Did it show
something that actually wasn't a metastases? how big was you tumor? what
grade?

I need something to calm my heart,

Lisa, I'm sorry you and your mother are going through this.  As you said, bone scans show injuries to the bone.  They don't show what those injuries are due to.  So if your Mom had an issue some years ago and it healed up, the bone scan would look the same as if there was a new "lesion" there.

It can be really hard to wait, but that's all you can do.
