Racy, I loved Rome for all the same reasons. I threw coins in the Trevi Fountain thinking about my Dad who had a picture of him doing the same 60 years before!

I adored the architecture, the motor scooters, the food and most of all the people!

Turks & Caicos islands - Grace Bay beach, often voted one of the most beautiful in the world. White sugar sand for 14 miles, not a speck of garbage (it is a national park) no vendors bothering you, safe to swim anywhere, and never crowded. You can walk along and every once in a while just fall in and hang out, then come out  keep walking. And brilliant torquoise.

#1 for me was being on top of Fox Glacier in New Zealand. There were just four of us plus the helicopter pilot - there were no other people within view, and the view stretched unbelievably far.  It was a brilliantly sunny day and standing there on the ice, it seemed as though I could reach back and practically touch Mt. Cook behind me, and in front of me was the most amazing vista in the world, dropping off from the edge of the glacier.  I felt like I was on the top of the world, or I suppose more correctly, at the bottom of the world. Total isolation and complete peace.  For me, absolute perfection.

    Love to travel!

Favorite places are probably the Columbia River Gorge especially Hood River, Oregon in October during apple season; Mt Hood in Oregon; Yosemite in California; the Giant Redwoods, CA; Lake Powell mostly in Utah; and the Grand Canyon.

Other favorite places outside the US are Grace Bay (flannelette also liked); the Great Wall (fiaranch1 also liked); I loved Rome, Ariom and also the Cinque Terra and Florence; Grenada, Spain; Luxor, Egypt; Jerusalem; Petra, Jordan; Mt. Siani, Egypt; Red Sea diving in Jedda, Saudi Arabia; Scotland; Gothenburg and Sero, Sweden.

Thank you for letting me go on and on.  I do love to travel. Just writing all those places on this board and remembering is a highlight in my day!  We lived in Saudi Arabia for a couple years.  I met friends and family and traveled to so many places.
