Saw the doc. ..I am hormone positive..her neg.  I wad told that was good.  I guess my cancer really likes hormones bc I have tons of receptors.    I have multiple tumors, only 2 were biopsied.  I have opted for a double mastectomy.   Surgery in about a month. :(

It sucks, doesn't it?  But I just got thru reading this:

    RESULTS

Women who had tumors that were positive for both estrogen and progesterone hormone receptors had significantly better survival than other women with breast carcinoma in the overall cohort, within each stage, and in the younger and older age groups, although the survival advantage was greater among women age ≤ 50 years than among older women. Hormone receptor status was associated with mortality even when patient age, disease stage, tumor grade, tumor histology, race/ethnicity, and metropolitan/statewide residence areas were taken into account.

Hormone receptor statue and survival outcome

I wish you all the best.  I have BRCA 2 gene. My mom just passed away (she fought 6 different cancers for many years) and I have been blessed to have her live to be 80, she truly did not allow herself to be beaten by this monster.

I just found out few hours ago that I have to return to do more tests (after MRI and mammogram done yesterday) so I hope that I have my mom's strength to get me through what ever happens next.  So many brave women and men out there, and I truly wish you long, healthy life moving forward.

cathycteach - It will surprise you how much peace of mind will come with your BMX.  I won't kid you, it's a tough surgery, but you can do this.  And as long as there are clean margins, you'll be in a much better position than you are today.  Look around at the thousands of women who've gone before you.  Let us know when you have a surgery date and you'll find out quickly that you aren't alone.  We'll be right there with you every step of the way...  Ask any questions and you'll be amazed at how many women are willing to help make your experience that much easier. Sending you a hug and a prayer...
