Interesting finding

I read in the news about an interesting study, a doctoral thesis. All Swedish women between ages 40 and 74 are summoned every 21 months for a mammo. Of these, 3% are later given an additional appt to follow up anything that appeared suspicious on mammo.  One year later, 30% of those who were called back and whose findings were benign, suffer from anxiety, sleeping problems and depression as an effect of the uncertainty period before the women found out irregularities were benign. That says a LOT about the stress during diagnosis period.
