Should I wear night sleeve with open scratch on my arm?

I was grooming our diabetic cat who has a hard time grooming her self and she decided she had enough so she reached with her front paws and scratched my arm in a few places. The scratches are minor and not deep at all. I put antibiotic ointment on them. The scratches on the under side of my arm leaked clear fluid (which I assume was lymph fluid) as well as started to bleed a little so I covered them to allow them to clot. Now it may take a little while to clot as I also have a clotting disorder, which makes antibiotics tricky as my blood thinner doses have to be adjusted. So if my arm looks like I need to see a doctor I will because the clinic who monitors my blood will be open in the morning so my meds can be adjusted if need be. But for tonight I am not sure if I should my night sleeve or not?

Wow, Jennifer, I'm so sorry! Can you wrap your arm instead? Easier to adjust for any swelling from the scratches, and much easier to place dressings under. Let us know how it goes, please!

You might want to talk with your Drs, as you deal with clotting issues and LE; about the possibilities/symptoms of 'Cat Scratch Fever'.   I don't remember the scientific name for it but it is a real disease.  My brother had to deal with it when he lived with us for a while and it definitely was not 'fun'.

Bartonella is cat scratch fever, and it only comes from kittens--it causes lymph node swelling. The problem with cat bites, is that they get infected so easily.

Bartonella henselea (Cat Scratch Fever) is not ONLY from kittens.  It can be from any cat scratch, bite or in the saliva if the cat licks an open sore.
