help!!!!! so scared
dear all
any one had this experience, please help!
Dx ILC in April 2013, went through those crap treatments, thought finally finished and can relax a little bit. then my CT scan on Jan.10th showed something in my lung which my onco. doctor said it looks like inflammation from pneumonia in the past three months, but I did not have any symptoms of pneumonia, doctor said some times no symptoms for pneumonia. so she decided to follow up in four months for another ct scan which scheduled on may 14th. after came back home, I recalled that I did had dry coughs occasionally during Nov. last year while was doing radiation. and always feel my lungs so dry, I thought that was because the winter, the air is so dry. I got scared, so I went to my family doctor and asked if the CT scan will show difference between cancer and inflammation? he said usually they do look different but no one can guarantee. he suggested if I really do concern, then I can do a x-ray after my prophylactic ovary surgery. after my prophylactic ovary surgery on Jan 22nd, my dry cough getting worse, but no fever, no mucus, only dry coughs and feel always want to go out for fresh air, i am so scared now, I have to wait until next week to have x-ray, but this really so stressed me out, any one had this experience or information? help!
oh, forgot to tell, also my right shoulder and arm is always sore and doctors can't find reason, bone scan in Dec. clear, my family doctor said maybe from surgery. there is nothing they can do at this moment. Too bad and too sad!
Feel so lonely and find this web side so helpful. thanks to all here and best wishes to all of you!

Are you by any chance taking blood pressure medication? Some of those can cause a dry cough.
Could your symptoms be related to rads?
I'm not sure if bc shows on a chest x-ray though I had one recently for similar symptoms. It was clear. In my case, I'm pretty sure the cough was due to BP med.
You can ask for an exploratory test and/or referral to ENT doctor.
You deserve to find answers that satisfy you. Don't give up till you do.
Wishing you a benign cause.

thanks Racy, I just went to see my family doctor and had a x-ray, will see the result next Tuesday. my family doctor said it could be caused by my nose dripping. he said that rads caused shows different on the ct. but still no one can guarantee until they open it. I don't take BP meds.
life with BC sucks really, every single pain, cough etc will cause so much stress!!!!
take care

I guess the radiation can cause pneumonitis, another possible cause for a cough. I know, its difficult not to imagine the worst, but there still are several other possibilities. Hope you find out soon! xxx

yes, music67, another potential cause of a cough is post nasal drip.
