My mothers cancer is back! Help please...

Hi everyone,

I posted a message a few weeks ago regarding my mothers cancer. Her breast cancer is back and it is now in her lungs and bones.

She is prescribed Zometa, Aromasin and radiation. After only one month using Aromasin, one shot of Zometa and about 15 sessions of radiation (it is all completed), she met with her doctor three days ago. He wanted her to take another lung picture (don't know what type) and ordered a Thoracentesis which my mom did today. apparently he wants to give her chemo. I guess he wants the liquid from the lungs to get tested!!!!??? 

The most important question that has made me sleepless for over a month is my mother's health not so good that the doctor decided to put her on chemo only one month after her treatment? Has any of you experienced the same thing? The doctor has told my brother that her lungs metastas is extensive! Does that mean that there is no hope?

Your messages are really heartwarming and they really make me feel much better about my mom's health. When I fist heard about her metastatic cancer, I felt like it is over...... Life turned to hell for me. But thank be to God that I found this website and forum. I feel much stronger and there is a lot of hope within me.

i am sorry about your mother. has the doctor done some blood work and exam about your mom's health? you should bring up the concern to the doctor. chemo is very invasive, the patient need to be strong enough to go thru it.

@juneping, yes the doctor has done blood tests. It seems like everything is decent. I hope that she can handle the chemo.
