Hi everyone --

I am 5 years out and 2B ER/PR+.   Did TAC 10/08 - 2/09.   I took tamoxifen for a year and then armidex for three and a half years.  I was having significant cognitive issues, so I stopped the armidex to see what would happen.  Now, almost a year after stopping armidex, I started having pain during sex, bloating and cramps.  Got an ultrasound with the result of all clear.  Now I am suddenly starting my period!!

Can a woman go into chemopause for 5 years and then come out of it?  Could this be because my daughter is now entering puberty and her hormones are messing with mine?  I'll definitely get this checked out, but I wanted to know what you all have experienced.

Even though I'm ER+, I am rather happy about having a reboot.  Menopause SUCKED.  It has made sex horrible, my skin old, and my mind crippled.

I'd love to hear what you all have experienced.

I was in chemopause for 22 months. Not five years like you though. My ob/gyn tested my hormones six months before my cycle restarted and told me that I was not menopausal and that I would almost definitely get my period again at some point. I was skeptical until it actually happened!

I am glad to have it again... no I did not miss aunt Flo, but chemo did a number on my female parts and it is such a relief that they are basically back to normal at this point.
