I have had wanding for explosives several times when wearing a sleeve and gauntlet.  It just takes a second and is non-invasive.  I am not sure what the procedure is for wrapping beyond walking through the x-ray.  It may also depend on the airport - the German screener in the airport in Munich was so thorough - I was actually frisked from head to toe - I felt like asking her "was it good for you?" but she seemed to have never seen garments before and there was a language barrier, lol!  Might be worth a call to the TSA at the airports on both ends of your travel.

I don't think you'll have any problems, but I do agree with specialK that you're likely to have your arm wanded with the explosives detector, and you  may also be wanded with the handheld metal detector.  It's not intrusive and should be pretty quick.

And they're very likely to assume from the looks of the thick bandages that you're in pain, so I've found them to be very careful, even apologetic--not a difficult experience. (One of them mentioned they were testing for metal or explosives, so I asked her if they had any chocolate detectors, since that was the only thing I was likely to try to smuggle in…)

    Happy travels!

I've never had a second glance when going through security.  I make sure I wear long sleeves and they don't even notice.  You should not be asked to remove them and if you are, ask for a supervisor!

I've had my sleeve swabbed. Have not tried going in full bandage. If you had enough time (and it was safe for your arm) to wait until clearing security to wrap, that might be an option to consider. I had very few clothes that fit over the bulk so it was difficult to conceal.
