Hello,

I'm new to this site and being diagnosed.  I had a mammogram July 2012 and another Nov 22, 2013.  Ultrasound Dec 12, 2013, biopsy Dec 26, 2013 and then diagnosed Jan 2, 2014!  Happy New Years!   I was told it was caught early, was very small and was a blessing .  I have a ruptered implant on the left side but I also have a defibrillator implant as well.  I'm 53.  I gave myself 1 day to cry and now i'm just ready to get this done.  I have made it my mission to talk to old friends, new friends or anyone I can to share my story.  Early detection, regular mammograms.  Just do it!  I've never written on a board before so I hope I didn't ramble too much.

Thanks for reading,

purplepassion03

purplepassion03 - Welcome!  I think you did just fine - but what do I know?  Happy  What exactly is your diagnosis if you don't mind me asking?  You'll find that this forum is a great resource for factual information (just start on the main page and start reading) and even a better source of empathy and support.  Trust me, waiting is the worst.  We all hate it, and we've all done it.  Please let us know how you're doing as you start this surreal journey through BC.  You'll find that in here, someone is always around, so you're never alone!

Wow!  Thanks!  I already learned a lot of info tonight!  I'm so glad I visited this site.  Stage 1A, TNM is 1B00.  I'm not a candidate for radiation because of difibulater, i 'm waiting for a modified simple mastectomy with reconstructive surgery, baby implant.  Left side only.

    Thanks again!

Diagnosed Jan.14, 2014.  I have had much post menopause pain in my R breast.the doc didn't do any further testing.  My regular mam showed microcalcifications.  It is ductal carcinoma in situ and I have chosen a BMX.
