Hello! I have survived Her2 and am back at work. Actually worked part time during intense chemo... don't ask how.. don't really know how I made it. I was wondering if anyone who has been through the entire treatment ending with Herceptin has experienced a hard time at work with memory or getting tasks done as quickly as before treatment. I forget names of people, can't stand listening to conversations about personal chatter as it distracts me to the point of having to check my data entries over and over. Especially after dealing with life and death.. no tolerance for babble. I requested a change of quieter seating arrangement and was approved by one manager and denied by another with out explanation. I need some sisters here to help advise me to get them to understand my need for less distraction without getting "let go. I need my job. We bought a house 2 months before being diagnosed with cancer. Be well and stay strong.

    Hi Merrianne,

I too worked half time through chemo as a fourth grade teacher. That helped me to keep my sanity…enough to get out of the house but still time to rest. I started back this fall full time and have been doing pretty well. I've also noticed memory issues, like not being able to come up with words as easily. Have also noticed that my vision really suffered.

My stamina has pretty much returned to normal but I understand what you're saying about no tolerance for babble. We went through a lot physically and emotionally and it takes time to sort it all out. I'm sorry your managers aren't more flexible!
