I am 40 had a negative mammo in 12/13.  Last week I started off by this horrible itch that would stop then 2 days later noticed my breast was red and hot.  Went to dr Monday and was given antibiotics, oral yeast pill and yeast cream.  I have to go back on Monday however if it's not better on Friday I have to call her.  There was a quick mention of IBC.  So she is treating it as a fungal/bacterial infection and glad she is seeing me for a recheck.   I still have itching on day 2 of meds, still red but no longer hot.  My skin feels rough where the redness is.  I am taking daily pics to monitor the redness.  Opinions on the pic are what I am wondering about: if others had the same type of look for either infections, fungal or even IBC.

I presented that way with what looked like a spider bite as well.  Glad you are going back to have it rechecked this week.

Really hard (and dangerous) for us to all try and diagnosis this. Glad you are going to get it checked out though.

Thank you everyone.  It looks so much better.  My husband informed me he is going to insist she run tests as he took it upon himself to research IBC today.   I will definitely read your story.

Dr is giving me a stronger antibiotic...if I am not better on Friday I am to go directly to the ER.  She never mentioned IBC today but told me to put lotion on the rough skin so I am being my own adovcate and contacting the place that did my mammogram in Dec. to find out what is really going on.

Have an ultrasound tomorrow morning.  Took matters into my own hands and called the local Breast Care Clinic.  Thank you everyone.

I'm glad you are having the ultrasound.  If ibc, this should show up.

I hope it is not cancer, but I have to say, I thought my breast had a spider bite, and it turned out to be IBC. Please keep us posted !
