Who wants to join me in this challenged? We can have a team of 3.

If we do a team of 3 it's 14 miles a week for 52 weeks.

Lovestorun and Oncearunner, thank you for making this thread possible!

FairyDogMother, sounds like a great challenge but I'm not sure if I can commit this year. I'm sure you'll get lots of others interested. I still get a little nervous when I think about "big" runs for me so I want to concentrate on consistency in training and entering some good runs for motivation!

Luckily they added walking to the dedication. We can have teams of 4 to 5 now.

Thank you oncearunner! Let us know when the 2015 thread is there and we'll follow you over.

My ribs are very sore. Walked for 30 minutes on the indoor track yesterday. Intended to go outside but even with two wool layers and a windproof coat (and hat, and wool tights under windproof tights, and insulated shoes...), it was too cold at walking pace outside. It was only -1C but the wind was too strong. The ribs hurt with every step, just from the reverberation. However, it is the kind of pain you can say, oh, I know what that is. I imagine it's like the athlete "playing with pain" pain. The bottom of the ribcage is visibly protruding in the mirror, which seems like it's swollen underneath. I have been taking Robax Platinum because the ibuprofen would help decrease inflammation more than Robaxacet with acetaminophen, while having the same muscle relaxing. However, neither formulation includes "time", which is what I think the ribs need most. The run is so soon now. I fly next Friday. Naturally, the weather outlook includes a drop in temperature. Although it's "normal" range, I was hoping for a little extra :D Particularly disappointed with overnight low of 52F currently forecast for the half marathon morning. Shivering is SO much fun with sore ribs. So, everyone, on the treadmill, use the clippy string!!

The 2015 Running Thread is now up! https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/58/topic/...

I've added all the runs indicated on this thread that are in 2015 on the new thread. Let me know if I have missed anything and I will gladly add it :)

Goldlining - I'm really hoping your ribs heal within the next week, or at least heal to that you can have a decent run. I too have been looking at the long range forecast. I've been hoping for slightly cooler temperatures for Sunday. I'm not worried about the other days, I know that I'll be fine since it will still be mostly dark by the time I finish but for the marathon...

FairyDogMother - I might be talked into that challenge if there are other ladies who want to form a team. I can commit to 14 miles, or in my world 22.5k, per week :) It might just be the motivation I need to keep moving.

    Lovestorun and Oncearunner-thank you!

I've been off for a while, seeing how using Tamoxifen would affect me and keeping busy with work and the holiday stuff. We set up an exercise room. A friend was selling a treadmill that we bought for $50. From there we bought a recumbent bike, basic bench, and hand weights/kettlebells. I'm determined to be my fittest so far in 2015.

I need to figure out another half marathon to run. My oldest daughter is graduating high school, starting college, so I'm slightly reluctant to look at half marathons for the fall as I want to be sure I'm not double booking during parents' weekend.
