Hi, so I'm experiencing my first real le flare up. I've felt the pain before, and have been able to curb it before it progressed. This week, I overdid it, and i got a hang nail, and I didn't wear my sleeve. So now my fingers are puffy and I only have a gauntlet. I'm noticing my fingers keep getting more puffy, and I'm not sure if the gauntlet is hurting or helping. Any advice? I've been dry brushing and doing my stretches. I can get a glove tomorrow, but I'm not sure what to do in the meantime.

Elevate & hydrate! Be sure that hangnail doesn't show signs of infection (warmth, redness, etc). Look at the StepUp SpeakOut website for more specifics...

Were you ever instructed in how to wrap fingers? Gloves are expensive: you probably know that you need a prescription to have insurance help pay for one. Hopefully you can fit in an off-the-shelf/readymade size. If you can get in to see your therapist tomorrow, that might be your best option.

My gauntlet did contribute to puffiness so I only use it sporadically.

There are others who can also advise and may offer help this evening so be sure to check back. Just thought I'd throw out a couple ideas in the meantime and wish you success in getting this under control.

Thanks for the tips! Currently elevating, and drinking water! And I'll check that site out.

I'm frustrated with myself for getting too comfortable and overdoing it, and ignoring the symptoms these past few days. Trying to be patient and forgiving. But I know better, with 17 nodes removed! I'm just not a delicate person, so having this delicate limb is a huge adjustment for me.
