Scan, IV Issues, Lung Mets?

So, I had my CT Chest Scan done yesterday.  First, it was very stressful because they couldn't get a good vein to stick the contrast IV.  Because I have tiny veins this happens all the time.  It took them almost 1/2 hour of one tech tapping and sticking me in various parts of my arm and hand.  Finally a nurse came in to do it.  I don't understand why this happens.  When I went for chemo, those chemo nurses had no problem.  I'd get the hot pack on my arm, relax in the chemo recliner, and they'd barely hurt me.  I think, if I ever have to go for another IV I am going to have my onc put the IV in first, and then go down for the scan.

Anyway,  Now it's the waiting game for the results.  In the meantime all I can think about are the previous nodules that were on my last scans, and wonder now if they've progressed.  I've had an annoying cough with constant phelgm and throat clearing.  It feels mostly in my trachea though. I really hate worrying about the possiblilty of lung mets.  I wake up coughing every morning for the last year.  And the rest of the day constantly clearing my throat.  Is this how lung met starts?

Sorry you are having this scare...it never ends does it.  I am sorry you had to deal with the whole IV thing too.  If you are like me you can deal with things most of the time but when you don't feel good or stressed it don't take much.  I'm waiting with you and hope all your worry was for nothing.  Around here there is a lot of people with sinus/cough...I think something is going around, hopefully that's all it is.  Sending you big hugs and good vibes.

Oceano...I hear you on the sticking needle issue...I usually have to have them in my hand..ooch...as its hard to get a vein on me too! Sorry to hear your on going concerns and recent CT...I have no knowledge of lung mets, but do know that they say after rads sometimes the lungs can get a bit stiff and you can cough more ( sorry for the non medical terms). Please keep us posted as to the results!!
