Cannabis Oil - Rick Simpson Oil - Medical Marijuana
For the past year or so, I've been researching alternative ways to prevent/treat cancer. I started finding bits and bites of information pop up in my research related to cannabinoids, the healing factor in the cannabis plant. BUT, when I start along the path to find out more, I find that 'accredited' cancer agencies continually cite 'no scientific evidence' to support all of the claims being made that canibanoids are effective in managing pain, nausea, and even healing cancer in some people.
So I wanted to start a discussion where others can come and learn about this subject - where we can share our links to evidence based research being done around canibanoids, medical marijuana and contribute any evidence based research we find.
And if there is anyone actually using this as a treatment methodology, it would be amazing to hear first hand reports of how oil or medical marijuana has helped/not helped them.
Here is a history of cannabis in the world - which will help to understand how it became illegal in the 1930's, after being used for Centuries as a plant based medicine: http://medicalmarijuana.procon.org/view.timeline.php?timelineID=000026
At the following link, I have found a list of evidence based research/studies conducted on 'eating' the plant, as opposed to smoking it. http://www.collective-evolution.com/2013/08/23/20-medical-studies-that-prove-cannabis-can-cure-cancer/
Here are the studies linked to breast cancer:
A study published in the US National Library of Medicine, conducted by the California Pacific Medical Centre determined that cannabidiol (CBD) inhibits human breast cancer cell proliferation and invasion. They also demonstrated that CBD significantly reduces tumour mass.
A study published in The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics determined that THC as well as cannabidiol dramatically reduced breast cancer cell growth. They confirmed the potency and effectiveness of these compounds.
A study published in the Journal Molecular Cancer showed that THC reduced tumour growth and tumour numbers. They determined that cannabinoids inhibit cancer cell proliferation, induce cancer cell apoptosis and impair tumour angiogenesis (all good things). This study provides strong evidence for the use of cannabinoid based therapies for the management of breast cancer.
A study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS) determined that cannabinoids inhibit human breast cancer cell proliferation.
I hope this discussion can overlook the 'right' or 'wrong' of the cannabis plant, but rather focus on the ability or inability of cannabis to potentially HEAL some types of cancer, or treat many of the side effects caused by traditional allopathic medicine (chemo, etc).
We have no problems using morphine, which is derived from the poppy, which is also responsible for heroin. Why can't we further explore the properties of the cannabis plant 'scientifically' for the same purpose?
For a plant that has been used in medicine for thousands of years, I find it hard to believe the statements made by allopathic cancer societies/agencies stating they simply don't know enough about the plant to recommend it for any of the 'alleged' benefits that have been claimed.

Hopefully there are more studies going on. There are different properties of the plant, and different plants as well. It all needs to be tested to determine what can be beneficial. There are a number of conditions that cannabis is thought to treat, along with the possibility of inhibiting breast cancer cells. Thanks for the links.

I use medical marijuna and I have in my possession 2 syringes of "Real Scientific Hemp Oil"
smaller, 3g syringe is 19.5% CBD and the larger 10g syringe is 18% CBD
Its a very very thick solid substance, not an 'oil' at all, but more a black solidified sort of grease.
It takes some pressure/force push a piece of it from its syringe
This was actually donated to me by the local dispensary. They asked me to forgo/delay all mainsteam treatments, all surgeries, chemo etc and any other further mainstream treatments, to try this for a month or two alone first
unfortunately I just can't do that
I am obliged to follow the mainstream medicine completely due to insurance restraints -- plus I would anyway, I have to do everything I can, all routes
Also I can't quite figure out how to use it in a way I can access right now.
it doesn't dissolve in my mouth at all (a recommended usage), even an hour and a half later (I have pernicious anemia, issues with not receiving some nutrients by mouth and that might be my problem here)
it also doesn't dissolve at all in tea etc
I can't vape it in my vaporizer (a desktop device designed only for use with whole MMJ plant matter),
if I apply it directly to my body (another recommended usage) it doesn't come off... for months... then I will have to explain the semi-permanent green-brown all over my surgical areas...which just isn't going to do when I'm expecting a surgery in a month... (It really wont wash off and I'm not kidding. You apply what I have here, and you wait... and wait.. and wait.. until after many weeks before it begins to fade.. rubbing alcohol wouldn't even touch it... nothing)... so I need to be able to do this with uninterrupted time by other treatments (ie., other people needing to peep at or mess with my surgical areas, so I can leave it on to do its work without having to be embarrassed about looking like I haven't bathed and have a crud mark on me)
I plan to wait until my last planned surgery and chemo are all complete, then once we're in the anti-estrogen drug last step, then start applying this directly to my cancer areas (unless I can come up with some other way to get it into/on me that might work).
This 3 days ago (Wednesday, and today is Friday), I saw my oncologist and brought my syringes in to show her, emphasized there is something to this, she's an Onco and she should know about this... she is going to look into it. She has no problem with me using it (providing I can just figure out how). Right along she's also known about and has had no problem with the MMJ.
I don't think "Real Scientific Hemp Oil" (what I have) is quite the same as "Rick Simpson Hemp Oil" and I believe the Rick Simpson is probably more effective than what I have (just from reading around the internet).
I've never actually seen "Rick Simpson Hemp Oil" but I believe it to be an entirely different consistency from what I have too.
If I haven't figured out something beforehand (I'll speak up if I do), when I get to there (completed mainstream and ready for the CBD syringes), I'll plan to report it here.
I believe CBD preparations are perfectly legal in any state, so long as they have essentially no THC (the psychoactive 'get you high" stuff)/
Meanwhile I've been an MMJ patient almost immediately after my first diagnosis in late 2010
(I live in a medical marijuana state).
MMJ bud matter (the part from female plants that people like to smoke/vape etc) has some CBD in it, but not as much as marijuana leaves and the plain old hemp plant has.
I've been asking the dispensary if they'd give me their leaves, stuff they might otherwise throw away as a more cost effective and accessible way to get me more CBD ( then I could eat those leaves, male leaves and all, maybe even make salads out of them if I had enough).
Seeing as my cancer has come back, I can't honestly say MMJ's prevented everything -- but on the other hand, we don't know how bad my cancer may have been/become without it -- so I wouldn't be too quick to say it hasn't prevented anything.
It soothes my nerves, fights insomnia, helps me keep my awake/sleep cycle regular and its something I can do on a regular basis without having to worry about rebound effect/physical addiction like I would to take Ativan etc on a regular basis, and I do find some types of pain it seems to enhance (make worse) but others it actually does help and if you are post surgical and having a hard time (a JP drain is really giving you trouble etc and you don't want to ask for more or bigger painkillers), sometimes MMJ is just the adjunct, the addon you need to make that pill work enough to get through it
I feel its really important not to smoke it (I believe SMOKING ANYTHING is very counter-productive to trying to fight cancer), but to vape or eat etc it instead
Vaping is safer than smoking, but I believe edibles to be the safest. I just haven't worked out how to make the butter, etc how to cook with it. Vaping is the easiest method I think.

neverready....what a great amount of information you've provided!! Do you think it would help to add some alcohol to your oil to thin it out?? Something with a higher alcohol content, like vodka??
That way you could take it more like a tincture.
-
I do have everclear in my house already to clean my vaporizer equipment. I have a jar I keep a couple of inches of everclear in. Screens etc go into into this everclear and swirled around daily (or when I see the jar and think of it), to be plucked out and used again when clean.
Apparently (here again I don't know any other MMJ users other than the person at the dispensary and I don't know any other cancer survivor MMJ users) online I see that most people use rubbing alcohol for cleaning, and this doesn't make a lot of sense to me when you can do what I am and (one way or another) eventually use that solution again.
When you vaporize MMJ exactly what gets on your screens and parts of your vaporizor (that is the substance you have to clean off) is a residue that I believe would be very strong to smoke, if I were to burn it (but I choose not to smoke anything at all, including this substance), a substance thats a kind of a concentrate that's stronger than the MJ itself, its very thick and tarry (and something else yet again I don't know what to do with other than soak and salvage it like I'm doing)
Once the alcohol seems completely saturated (screens etc stop coming clean), I've been straining it and storing the (now brown and presumably MMJ-potent Everclear) into a secondary alcohol bottle. I've been saving this in the hopes of figuring out what to do with it... I've had an idea to eventually use this former cleaning now strained brown Everclear solution in combination with a solution I might try making from the 'aftervape' of vaporization
When you vaporize, since its not smoking, you aren't left with ashes, you are left instead with the (mostly) spent depleted remains, often called aftervape or duff.
Aftervape even is not completely useless. It still has remnants enough to make this worthy to do. People (who know how to do it) often make the same butters etc with it they might with the MMJ itself (using more aftervape than they would have to from MMJ)
Using two other solutions made from combined vegetable glycerin and PG (poly glycol?) with aftervape to saturate and then strained as with the everclear solution, to combine to make an E-cig solution out of it
(E-cigs are a completely different way and meaning to 'vaporizing' which might well confuse things here -- they use a solution that is a recipe mixture of mostly VG/PG with a bit of water and alcohol - E-cigs are basically 'mini-fog machines' that give a mist)
E-cigs can be infused with lots of things, nicotine, vitamins and apparently THC/CBD too (if you can figure out how). People commonly make their own ordinary (non MMU-related) "E-cig juice.' there are recipes for flavors of E-cig juice, apps to calculate recipes, etc all over the place online
the dispensary actually donates my monthly MMJ to me on a regular basis, and I just don't want to waste a bit of any of it
It looks like MMJ E-cigs are available properly prepared in dispensary type places in other MMJ states
Unfortunately MMJ E-cigs and know-how have not made their way to my state (or at least my little corner of it), and they at my dispensary really have no idea just yet (but they're working on it too)
I don't tolerate the drinking hard alcohol real well (at 17 I was being an idiot and I really nearly killed myself with alcohol poisoning and although its been several decades, I just can't really stand it ever since -- I could however, bury it maybe, if concentrated enough, as a shot maybe hidden in a mixed drink, fruit juice etc.. assuming a shot or less would be potent enough)
I have to be careful of any direct drinking alcohol really, for the silly and very annoying reason that any of it, even a wine cooler, sends me into crazy bad hotflashes
Being a grease (labeled an "oil") I don't know if this Real Scientific Hemp Oil wlll mix with alcohol... I found it won't blend in with the VG/PG directly at all (I had the thought to try to make an E-cigarette solution with it directly. apparently you CAN do this with the Rick Simpson.. which like I said, seems to be a different dog than what I have.
I never had a chance to have any class in anything like chemistry etc, but I know that for example, water and oil don't mix... so I suppose there might be some problems similar to that at work here, maybe oil and alcohol have problems.. or oil and glycerin.. or more grease and glycerin, etc. I don't know.
for E-cigs, its really important that everything is very clear, throughly strained, else you'll ruin the E-cig.
I'm stumped at how do you strain something like aftervape from something (vegetable glycerin) that's the consistancy of maple syrup (the food grade vegetable glycerin). I tried once before and had to throw the whole mess out.
I'm about as good a cook as I am a scientist
that's as far as I've gotten so far.
so, to try to summarize (and sorry about having to go off on big jags about MMJ vaporizes VG and e-cigs etc etc to try to answer and let you know what I've tried before)...
I have tried dissolving it in a ready-made PG/VG e-cig mixture (that included a spot of alcohol) with no luck (it just sat there as its own little lump, no amount of heating and shaking etc would make it blemd),
but no, I haven't actually tried it directly in just a spot of fresh everclear.
If it works with the MMJ remains on my vaporizer.. it just might work on too..
if it works that alone would open up options...
let me try this in a little bit and let you know. I'll take a little bit and try it (I'm really trying not to waste these syringes.. they tell me they are a $500 value .. I have wasted little bits of it just trying to experiment, but i keep it as small as I can
-
well I'll be damned.....
that worked!
I took a picture (I've deliberately blocked my face for internet safety) first of it on my finger first (to show its consistancy), I then took that same finger-swipe and put it in a small white glass dish with a bit of everclear in it..
and sure enough, it fell right off my finger and began to dissolve, leaving me with a light green (it wasn't much I put in) colored everclear... (note to self: if I ever get it on my body and can't get it off -- use the everclear!)
I also took a picture of the synges themselves and if I can figure out how to upload them to show you, I will.
I also got a picture of the dissolved result in the dish (just moments after doing this) though its too deep of a dish and I've taken these pictures with a little camera that's on the top of my laptop screen..first time I've actually used the camera, heh..
this is amazing! they wanted to to digest a half a gram of it a day (which with the amount they've given me, works out to about 26 days worth).. tghey said digesting it was the best method (applying it externally is a secondary choice)...
maybe now I can actually do this...
thank you twinkly! you rock!
man oh man... you really made a difference to somebody today.. me!
I had licked my finger after.. and the zing of the everclear wasn't bad... I could do this.. I could even hide it in tea now.. finally..
it seems like maybe it doesn't even taste bad..
to be even more accurate its not brown or black really, its a really really dark green (that looks brown or black until you smear it somewhere or... dissolve it in alcohol like you've just shown me to do), then its a dark green.
bear in mind though, that this isn't the same stuff you've been asking about (the Rick Simpson), which is different in texture (and there are videos of people dropping the rick simpson into VG and having it work, which is why I tried it with what I have), so, even as much as you've just hugely helped me, I don't know how much will apply to the Rick Simpson (I don't know how much any of this is going to in turn help you in your quest). if I can get these pictures up I can show you though.
Ask me more stuff though, I really want to be of help to you too. if its something I know it or know of it I'll do my best, and while I only see him for a few minutes when he makes his delivery... I can also ask the dispensary guy questions too.. I know he'd be thrilled to know we're getting the word out on some of these things.
thank you again!!!

I dunno, but there must be residue with the solvents, I'd not use them often at least for vaporizing or eating. you probably know this : I made sacred ghee for many years, once with 20 lbds of shake. big pot, shake, water to cover, some pounds of unsalted butter, simmer for many hrs, strain, refrigerate, skim off the hardened ghee from the top. enjoy. if that's your thing. the spent shake I gave to the hare krishnas who were around at the time. they said they wanted it to make into soup.
-
gotta keep a careful eye on it and add more water when needed. & when straining pur boiling water through the shake several times to try & get the most butter as possible press with a wooden spoon. I wonder if you could make the ghee with coconut oil. though the butter without the milk solids has no stinky & if cooked with it a higher smoke temperature. not sure of other health qualities. you can make it with as little or as lot of cannabis of whatever quality as you have/like. not sure if the stuff you have will dissolve in butter, it may.

I have been trying to figure out how to get medical marijuana but I live in Missouri. I have seen the kind that neverready is talking about on ebay and I've hesitated to order b/c the smallest quantity is almost $200 and I'm not even sure if it's the right kind to actually achieve tumor regression. One thought I was having neverready, before you figured out about the alcohol, is whether you could swallow a quantity of that like a "pill"? I'm thinking your stomach acid could break it down well enough. I would love to get RSO but clueless how to make that happen.
-
I wondered the same thing as pipers_dream. I think that's how the MMJ was administered to the little girl with severe epilepsy who was featured in the Weed documentary on CNN. Another thought that occurred to me is whether it might be possible to squeeze out a small quantity of the oil/grease into an empty capsule (which I think can be bought at a pharmacy) and then swallow the capsule.
I have had three standard treatments (2 AIs and one chemo) fail to halt progression and am thinking of MMJ myself. It's legal in my state. My concern is how do you know whether the cannabis you are getting this month is the same as last month and the same will be available next month, as you would with a prescription. There is another thread here on bco about someone who was given a MMJ product by a friend, it was stronger than she expected it to be, and caused a frightening and possibly dangerous reaction.

good morning all..
I'm still working on how to post photos (but I've sent a private msg to a member who's posted some really nice pictures and has her information lined up very nicely the way I want mine too, hopefully she'll reply and help me out)
I suppose I could just swallow it, but honestly in its original grease form, it just makes me gag to try to get it down... and then even if I can get past that, I have this other silly issue.. just how much of a squeeze constitutes a half a gram?
Abilgal, that is extremely helpful info.. I know someone who can cook (but is not an mmj client) and I don't know how much aftervape I have at tihs point, but its a lot. it fills over half of one of those really large glass jars of olives (its another thing I'd post a photo of if I could)
Anyway I'm going to show her (on Monday) what you've written.. she's the cook around here... if she has questions about it or needs more details I'll be asking ...
my dispensary guy makes these sorts of things, but a recent law change in my state makes it illegal for him to provide actual MMJ (not to be confused with the CBD syringes) in any other form other than its plant form
He's only here for about 5 minutes, and he's a very busy guy, so he tends to give extremely general info (about like i could find online)... he apparently didn't think my aftervape looked right or something, seemed surprised when I showed him last (when I was asking him for exactly the sort of information you've given here)
he said my aftervape "looked just like tobacco" (I have no idea how its suppoed to look or what his looks like then)
and my (super good at cooking) friend may be able to do exactly as you've said (especially since we can actually ask you about it more if we need to), but with the aftervape instead of the 'shake' (shake I believe is sort've a crumbly powdery lower-grade not-so-hot marijuana leftovers.. I think...right?)
I'm kind of embarrassed that I'm still kinda ignorant of some of this even as I use the mmj). being already vaped, we won't risk having a strong pot smell to permeate my apartment hallways (I'm in an MMJ state, but its still a federal offense, I live in subsidized housing, federally government and should my apt management find out, I've read its up to their discretion to leave me be or evict me.. and my management already leaves much to be desired...
when I vape and how I store my medicine (kept out of sight, locked away in a large file cabinet), etc its all as responsible and low-key as I can get it. Most of the time I can vape and a person can sit right beside me on the couch still not smell it, or get only the occasional whiff if they do).. I've also been reading scare stories in the news of MMJ patients getting robbed for their medicine, I live in a so-so neighborhood, so its always best not to advertise and the fewer who know about it, the better...so using the basically already decarboxilized ('pre-heated' to activate step) is done,
making a butter or ghee (vaguely aware of 'ghee through my sometimes use of some types of Indian and German
tobacco nasal stuff) and I think thiis that you do is going to be the ticket there.
as far as the RSHO stuff I have, I just need to quit messing around and swallow it..random fingerswipe at a time (until I can figure out whats actually a half a gram of it etc)... they did say to work my way up, I should start with a small amount like I've just experimented on...
plus I still just really want to wait to get really started on it until I'm past the next surgery and chemo...
the RSHO that I have will be one of the finishing touches on my cancer treatment, to be taken when I'm in the anti-estrogen pill stage..knowing right now, now in the present that I am going to be able to take it afterall is what I have needed. I don't believe it expires or has an expiry date. He actually gave this to me maybe as much as 6 months ago, and he asks each time he sees me since if I've been able to use it.
Piper's Dream,
if its low enough in THC (the THC is essentially non-existant, you can use CBD legally anywhere
what I'm wanting to look into (and I wonder if this might apply to you as well)
is the ingesting of marijuana leaves -- especially from male marijuana plants... I have to wonder if you have a non-psychoactive piece of plant, if you'd be okay in a non MMJ state
I also wonder because there is a limit on how much actual MMJ I can have in my possession (apparently that also includes my aftervape so I've also been kind of sweating that counting saved aftervape, I actually have more total MMJ on hand than I'm supposed to)
and I wonder if marijuana leaves (especially from male plants) would even count as actual marijuana (in either your state or mine), or if they'd be low enough in THC enough to qualify as legal (everywhere) as well as in my case (hopefully) not count against my own allowed amount.
I think its possible, being as these (especially male) MMJ leaves I think are more hemp-like in nature (low enough in THC bu rich in CBD)
I've also looked really hard at CBD tinctures you can buy (legally anywhere), but I'm not sure just what I'm looking at, having doubts the tinctures available online are anywhere near as concentrated as we need or what I already have
Sometimes I wonder if we can't or don't just go out find and buy ourselves some plain old hemp plants or hemp matter/leaves (the 'boring' old rope-making plant). Somebody would make a killing (especially in our cancer community and others like MS etc), if they'd just sell hemp leaves and report their THC (which you'd want something like .01% or whatever to make it okay) and of course list CBD content
I personally am uneasy using E-bay. I've never had a bad experience, but then I've only ever purchased 10 items from it in my entire life (and I worried excessively each time I did). Some things (like major electronics or things you ingest) I'm especially leery of... be sure your seller has a 99% (or at least 98.9x % if they've sold thousands of things).
I'll see if I can recover a website where I've seen either what I have or the rick simpson for sale plus some tinctures and post it here
I've remembered that when I was looking around that "Dixie Elixers" looked promising to me (and I was also looking for an affordable E-cig form of it when I was searching)
I hope I'm not telling you stuff you already know or anything,
but here is a page talking about it and a 60 Minutes they apparently had on it
Still looking for the one site that to me looked promising as a good site to purchase these things
still looking.. in the meantime just wanted to add that even as nice as this stuff is they've given me (and that I'm holding on standby until mainstream medicine is more done with me).
if I have a choice.. I really think whole plant things (not so much extracted, but just a whole leaf etc) not only with this but in general (when supplimenting, in our diet etc) are probably the best way to go..
I figure whole plants (and their leaves etc) are probably better for us then extracts and tinctures etc
I even believe the whole tobacco plant, when used in whole non-smoking methods, can be helpful for various more things (I use small packets of Swedish Snus in my lip and British/German/Indian/American Nasal Snuff (some women down south stuff the American brands in their mouths along their gums, one brand is even named "Dental" -- but its generally and in other countries, something you gently sniff - not snort -- just into the very rim and bulb of your nose).
a little off topic (and if I can't find the website I wanted, at least I can shre thais maybe useful info) but
If anybody here is trying to quit smoking, at least I can point you at the snus and snuff if you'd like.
I use the purified snus found here (snus a swedish word, rhymes with loose, sounds like 'snoose")
http://us.northerner.com/swedish-snus-int/dry-white-mini-portion-snus-int.html?cat=1107
its not spit chew or dip or 'lip snuff' or anything like that. its a small (especially if you get mini like us women will more likely want), discreetly sits in your UPPER lip, keeping you from wanting a cigarette
(you're going to really want to avoid the 'camel' and 'marlboro' 'snus' you may actually find in a gas station somewhere.. save yourself the trouble its not even actually snus.. I swear its just like they swept the crumbs off the floor of their cigarette-making factory's floor, stuffed these floor-sweepings in a tea-bag-material and called it 'snus'.. its nasty, probably not even especially safer than their cigarettes
Most people I know who've quit did so using e-cigs (and they are nice a friend (who at 68 quite smoking with his) and I use them for fun of tasting new flavors in them to test & taste, but I wasn't able to quit on those. It was the snuff and snus for me
here's a good source of various nasal snuffs from around the world and its where I get mine

@ neverready, I googled "what common item weighs one gram" and got lots of answers, including a dollar bill and a medium sized paper clip. Or buy a one-gram package of beads in a craft store, count the beads and divide by two for half a gram.
Then you could probably rig up a simple balance scale to weigh out the right quantity from your syringe. I googled "DIY balance scale" and got over a million hits. Good luck.
-
yes. I wonder what 1 gram of flax seed ground would look lie. it's very light. and yes. shake is the female herb when manicured, ie the fan leaves clipped off & the bud groomed of the rest like a clipped bush or tree in a formal garden

well feed-me-peanuts-and-call-me-Dumbo... CBD products are actually available at Amazon (who knew?)
Piper's_Dream, I've been feeling bad that I don't have much in the way of ideas for you... but this is one of the quite a few results I found when I plugged in an amazon search for CBD (and its one of the products I was thinking of).
I don't know if any of this might suit your needs (or how you feel about Amazon, I tend to trust it more than ebay -- but I tend to look at every imaginable product and read a lot of reviews, window shop there a lot.. even with the gift I was given with the syringes, I have thought about getting something very much like the one I've posted here.
IF my information is correct (don't swear by me though)
I think what I had learned before (gathering from online mostly):
Apparently the recommended complete dose to beat cancer is 70 grams total CBD to be digested in a month or two... and the gift I have here (minus my little fingertip amount testing) is 26 grams.. So I was seriously considering doing something like this one here, to try to make up the 44 grams as much as I could.
Okay, so maybe these ones would be pretty minuscule amounts comparativey and maybe not a good idea afterall *sigh*... still leaving this post up in case anybody still might want to take a look.
-
neverready, you are full of info. I'll have to try to sort it out later but you've given me lots of leads to follow up on. One thing I did read is that a starter dose for MMJ is a piece about the size of a 1/2 grain of rice and you work up from there. So the CBD has no THC but it's effective? I've read that hemp by itself is not effective (though good for you) but it's confusing b/c Rick Simpson himself calls his product hemp. Yes if I were you I'd buy some empty capsules--drugstores or health food stores carry them. All over the place here but I'll have plenty to chew on when I get home this afternoon.

There are different places in Colorado that are using cannabis oil to treat their cancer. If you look up Realm of Caring, there are some testimonials on the success. There is a girl name Susan that had Stage 4 ILC and she has been taking "Realm Oil". I'm not sure if they use only CBD or THC. These are the brothers on that CNN documentary with the little girl.
Another place is called Riverrock Wellness and they have a program called A.C.T Now program. They use CBD through oils, teas, juicing, patches, etc. I don't know much about it but they also post testimonials. A lady with stage 4 breast cancer just got a NED pet scan not too long ago.
I'm also extremely interested in it for my mom but she's in SC which it is still illegal. I just keep researching so that if she decides to try it out, I can help. I told her she could come stay with me.

Hi! Anybody knows about using hemp oil with chemo NAVELBINE? It works together? What about any interaction or side effects?
-
You can buy CBD oil or tincture mailorder from a few places online it's legal to ship anywhere in the 50 states and these places disclose how many milligrams of CBD is in their products. They are: bluebird botanicals, dixiebotanicals (which sell cbd products cheaper under their Compassionate care progran), cibdex, and a few more. You can also make it quite easily in a machine called magical butter, sold at magicalbutter.com. And there is a YouTube video showing how to make small quantities at home that looks pretty simple using Everclear as the solvent and Rick Simpson's recipe. Search for "How to make a small batch of Rick Simpson oil," posted by Dr. TH Hunt.
I plan to try one of these but haven't yet so cannot report on how they work.
One thing I haven't found yet is what is the recommended dose of CBD for various stages and types of breast cancer and how long should you take it for. If anybody knows, please advise.

My mother used the oil to eliminate a spot on her lung and now takes a maintenance dose for Alzheimer's. She puts the oil into capsules. CBD is great for many conditions, but for cancer oil with both THC and CBD may be best. Also, it seems that juicing the raw plant has health benefits, but some cannabinoids are not available in the raw plant. The plant is amazing. My mother's Alzheimer's goes into remission when she takes ¼ gram of the oil nightly; and as for side effects, the oil lowers blood pressure, ensures a good night's sleep and improves mood (among other benefits). The Americans for Safe Access website has lots of links to studies and other resources.

My mother's oil comes in 3.5 gram syringes. For dosing, we put the oil from each syringe into 13-14 capsules (@ ¼ gram in each capsule). We do it by eye. Each capsule looks like it has an amount about the size of 2-3 grains of rice, similar in size to an M&M. Obviously dosing this way is not an exact science, but the key is ingesting @ 60 grams over a 60 day period. Of course, the strength of the oil is also a factor. The 60 gram regimen assumes a fairly high quality oil, with @ 80%+ THC and 2%+ CBD. Dosage should increase/decrease to account for the oil's quality. Ideally, the gram/day should be taken in four equal doses to constantly raise the body's cannabinoid levels. Remember to start slowly, though. It often takes someone without much experience with cannabis about 5 weeks to comfortably work up to a gram/day dose. An unobtrusive way to acclimate the body to cannabis is to start taking @ ¼ gram nightly. After taking the oil at night for several weeks, adding daytime doses really doesn't cause much, if any, sedation (or anxiety).

I did not read everyone's posts...
FYI..former hubby had colon cancer ...did chemo even though his surgeon advised him not to.."he did not need it" fast forward 2 years..hubby developed brain tumor..hmmmmm chemo...induced
anyhow ...he was terminal...had smoked pot for years.
3 to 6 months to live....lived 18 months...we totally attribute his living longer to the pot. his Neuro onc was ready and all for giving him THC. totally on board. This was 6 years ago. If I ever get to stage 4 I will take it, smoke it....whatever.
Pot, THC, does inhibit the growth of blood vessels to a tumor.
K now the NSA has me in their sights. lol as if I care.
Thc works.

Momaton, which chemo did he have that caused a brain tumor? I have heard of chemo causing blood cancers, although rarely, but never heard of brain tumors resulting from chemo.

Greetings Everyone,
So glad I found this thread
I went through a few AL's before deciding on aromasin way back in 2012 and have been on it since then. It gave me the least side effects. I'm not angry being diagnosed a couple of weeks ago with spinal metastases, in all three parts . I must say, it was a good run considering I was stage IIIC at the time of my original Dx. What I am surprised about is the dramatic decline of my health. I was in pretty good shape. I traveled and was was doing fine other than some back pain over the last couple of months. Now, I feel like my spine is about to collapse with a lot of weakness in my legs. I also have a shooting pain from the back of my neck to the top of my skull. Sometimes it feels like my head is about to explode. I can't even bend over without pain. I've been prescribed pain meds, with some relief. I am going to get a cane, I surely don't want to take a fall at the point. Don't really like taking pain meds. I'm going to look into the cannabis oils to rub on my spine. It can't hurt at this point. I will never give up the fight.
Blessing to All

Anyone out there have experience with Rick Simpson Oil (marijuana) vs CBDPure made from hemp. Pros-Cons. One Pro for me is that I can have CBDPure shipped to me, legally. With RSO, will need to find a seller and go out of state. Experiencing joint pain and stiffness (trigger thumb and fingers from AI hormonal therapy. Have occasional sleepless and found that sometimes cookies helped me sleep for soundly, but did not actually make me sleepy) I also posted this to forums on Alternative Medicine; Pain; Chemo-before, during, after.

Blue Girl: I am vaping a 50/50 THC/CBD oil. I love it. Helping with sleep and anxiety. Can't tell if you have the ER+ conundrum. I do, and wish I could take something stronger because it really helped. I am being cautious and taking less THC.

Hi! I've been reading alot about this topic with interest. I was diagnosed with ER+/PR+/HER2- metastatic breast cancer in Feb 2015 and I'm on my first line treatment (Tamoxifen & Lupron). I'm interested in medical marijuana to mitigate bone pain. (Technically, one of my two tumors in my spine sits on my spinal nerve.) I'm a little confused as there seems to be mixed opinions.
My questions to you are: (1) What is the appropriate ratio of THC:CBD given that I'm ER+/PR+/HER2-? I've read repeatedly that 1:1 or 1:3 is recommended. (2) Should I stick with a low concentration? I'm a little nervous about interactions with Tamoxifen.

Bloomingdale~ The interaction with T worries me as well. I have been using a vape with 1:1 for nearly two years. It does wonders for my anxiety and sleep.
I feel like I should stop one or the other. Feeling stuck.

I just started taking some CBD, and I am amazed at how much it helps with the general feeling of "ick" during chemo. I can taste food, eat food, and my digestion is much better than during my first two rounds. I like that there's no " high" because I can use it and go to work with diminished side effects. I know nothing about marijuana, but went to a recreational pot store (seattle-legal) and the guy helped me find mints with CDB that allow me to know exactly how much I am getting, and I don't need to fuss with how to take it/how much to take. I debated posting about this, because I feel bad that everyone can't walk into a store and try this, because it's really helping me
