Revised RAD report

Does anyone know what it means when the RAD report says revised?

I had my follow up mammo (after being diagnosed with Atypical Hyperplasia) and now have a lump. Had the spot mammo and then an U.S. I knew when the U.S. girl went and got the radiologist that there was some concern. My RAD report on line says 8mm hypoechoic nodule with prominant vascular flow and gave it a Letter D/birads 4B. She didn't really tell me too much when doing the U.S. except she would like me to go back to Dana Farber to the breast center before I have my biopsy done on January 30th. They also had another radiologist sign off on the this report so I'm wondering if something got upgraded or changed. I will ask when I go on Monday to Dana Farber but was wondering if that has happened to any of you. Of course I am high risk so I worry now and I can't take tamoxafin because I have a clotting mutation. UGH....any input would be appreciated!

    Hello,

Yes, it did happen and I can explain what happened to me but I don't know if it applies to you.

I was investigated for IBC (nothing showed up) and I had not 2 or 3 radiologists sign the report, so I asked why? They replied that when they are not sure, they ask for the opinion of another radiologist sense a double signature. I have hyperplasia of the breast skin and fibrocystic breasts (mastosis) and a few other dangerous but B9 conditions. Seriously thinking of MX.

    Take care,

Thanks for replying. I see why they would do that. Makes sense. I understand about the MX. I've only just started going down this road last March and now already have a suspicious lump. Hoping this isn't going to happen every mammo showing something. I am having my biopsy Thursday this week. Keeping my fingers crossed it's nothing.....

brejim - Here's a site that explains BIRADS scores pretty well:

    http://www.cancer.org/treatment/understandingyourd...

One thing to know is that about 80% of BIRADS 4 biopsies come back benign. It's not unusual to have a second radiologist sign off on a scan - and you really should read anything into it.

Please let us know how the biopsy went & we'll be here to wait for the results with you & hope for B9.
