Can anyone answer me a question?

My mother was diagnosed 2 years ago with breast cancer stage IIB. She had a mastectomy, chemo and radiation. Sincer then everything went fine. She had had Ca15-3 every 6 months. Last time CA 15-3 was 20 UI/ml, and today they were 24 UI/ml, which i know it is in normal range. But i'm afraid that the fact that CA 15-3 increased ,it can be a sign of a metastase, even if it is in normal range. Can anyone tell me what this means, please?

probably nothing.  Some patients record in the hundreds, thousands.  Of course that's us with advanced cancer. I'm advanced and mine is around 20 as well and hasn't been of any real use for diagnosis.  Dead cells get counted too if you didn't know.

Her Dr will watch for any trend and scan if they think they need to.
