Vaginal Bleeding during Radiation ( PLEASE HELP )
I am on my 4th week of radiation and about a week ago i started having some pinkish discharge, it looks like there is some specs in there. my Doctors keep telling me that its not radiation related just like they told me my nausea was not ( pfft yea right ) I did my own research and found that its somehwat common amoungest people who get radiation in the stomach area and lower. well my breast reddness is going down all the way to my rib cage area so obviously its targeting a little of my stomach area. ive never had problems down there before and im extremely frustrated that noone is taking me seriously and i cant get any answers from anyone about this. im worred that it is going to effect my wa nting to have children down the road. In my findings i read that it can thin the wals of your vagina and cuase some discharge with shredding of tissue.
im really crying out and hoping someone else has experianced this as i suffer from depression and this is the last thing i need on top of cancer. can someone please respond to me
thank you in advance for any responses

Tootie, we don't have any answers for you, but just wanted to encourage you to see your GYN as well and ask questions! Also, we're sure there will be others here shortly who will offer their insight!

Yes I did, im using a mirena coil havent had periods since i started using them in 2006 and am supposedly menapausal, but i had 2 periods in 3 weeks, dr said it was not the rad causing it, and to make an apptmt with my Gyn.
I didnt. Been done 3 weeks and had no more bleeds. Hmmm

Oh, now, this phenomenon is quite interesting to me. I'm in my early 60s, well past menopause. During radiation treatment this spring, I had some intermittent minor vaginal spotting: no obvious blood, just gray-green mucous-y stuff (sorry, I know this is gross), and not much, but enough to make me uneasy, as I'd had nothing like it before.
I spoke to the rad. onc. nurse about this development; she thought it was unlikely that it was connected with treatment but urged me to get it checked out with my gynecologist, which I did. I tested negative for all sorts of things, but never found out what the actual cause was. (Of course, when I went in to be examined, the problem wasn't manifesting itself.)
In any case, I had a few episodes of this discharge, each lasting for a couple of days. They went away while I was still doing rads and haven't returned. I wonder if & suspect that they were rad-related, though I don't know what the cause-and-effect could be.
