Recalled for another mammogram

I have atypical hyperplasia. I had streotatic and surgical biopsy last March. Went for my annual mammo this past Saturday and just called to have me go back to the hospital tomorrow for more advanced mammo tomorrow. Just wondering for all of you out there that have this. Is this something you go through every mammo once you are diagnosed? UGH. I hope I am not going down this road again. I am hoping it's just scar tissue? Maybe? Fingers crossed!!! I can't take tamoxifen because I have a genetic disorder which can cause clotting?

I also had surgical biopsy once I was diagnosed with atypical hyperplasia. Forget to write that in my original post.

I went a couple of years, then had atypical cyst and callback & biopsy, but really nothing to do with the atypia.

I don't think it means this every time, but they'll be more cautious with you. I think we should always get diagnostic rather than screening ones just because of this.

I am going to talk to my doc about that? If I am going to get called back every time makes more sense to do the more enhanced mammo. Thanks!

Make sure they come up with some way to code it for the insurance so you don't get in a fight over whether diagnostic will be covered every time.

 I have a lump. Not a large lump- 8mm. They did the spot mammo and then an ultrasound.

Back to Dana Farber for a biopsy in two weeks. UGH
