I thought I'd add a short video that brought a smile to my face.

Don't wish me happiness
I don't expect to be happy all the time...
It's gotten beyond that somehow.
Wish me courage and strength and a sense of humor.
I will need them all.--Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Someone posted this on my FB page today - I thought it was kind of neat and kind of appropriate for us.
We're all just walking each other home.
Ram Dass

we all feel that way, don't we?

I really like the Anne Morrow Lindbergh quote. I must add that if I didn't have a sense of humor, I would probably be insane. So, along that vein, here's a comment that really gave me a laugh recently (and at a time I really needed a laugh!):
Frisbeetarianism is the belief that when you die, your soul goes up on the roof and gets stuck. George Carlin

brenda, I needed that laugh... So that explains the haunted houses.. Ha ha
Bon you are so right with that quote, that's what I am currently doing actually..
"Less is more" after all, right?

A friend of mine recently enrolled her young son in Pee-Wee Soccer. After shopping for shorts & cleats, receiving the treasured team shirt and packing a snack the toddled off to their first game. After the first half, which seemed to be made up solely of a large mass of kids moving as one up and down the field, her son ran over to her to eat his snack. Breathless from running so much he looked up at his Mom & Dad and said:
"Remind me.....why do I need to kick the ball?"
I couldn't stop laughing. We sometimes get so wrapped up in the trappings of life that we forget to think about why we are doing any of this!

Virginia, What a great story and message! Yes, indeed, why do I need to do anything?
My quote for today:
"What they call you is one thing. What you answer to is something else." Lucille Clifton

Really enjoying the reading - great quotes!
"The most wasted of all days is one without laughter." - E. E. Cummings
"Humor is the greath thing, the saving thing. The minute it crops up, all our irritations and resentments slip away and a sunny spirit takes their place." - Mark Twain

Bon, all I can say is "AMEN!!!!"

My husband died years ago, but I had to laugh at this quote: "It's great being married to my best friend. I can tell him anything, because he only listens to half of what I say!"

Do not save your loving speeches
For your friends till they are dead;
Do not write them on their tombstones,
Speak them rather now instead. – Anna Cummins -
"Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards."
"A winner never quits and a quitter never wins."

Inside my empty bottle I was constructing a lighthouse while all the others were making ships.

I looked into that turtle's eyes and saw something that was alive before my grandfather was born, and I didn't want to be the end of that journey. I figured he had earned his right to enjoy the rest of his days in the deep.
Cai Tu, Chinese fisherman, after he released the endangered 200 pound, 100 year old sea turtle that he had caught and could have sold for the equivalent of two months' wages.

"Harbors are safe refuges for ships, but that's not what ships were built for."

I'm certain my dog would agree.

Love the quotes from the last few days. Thanks everyone!
"What we see depends mainly on what we look for." - John Lubbock

I'm still chuckling over how to handle stress like a dog. Linda-n3 I agree with completely with the quote you just shared.
Here's one I like to remember:
"It is particularly incumbent on those who never change their opinion, to be secure of judging properly at first.”- Jane Austin

The illusion which exalts us is dearer to us than ten thousand truths. Aleksandr Pushkin
The truth will set you free. But not until it is finished with you. David Foster Wallace
I've been meditating on these for a while....
