How many of you get scans?

I just went to see my MO today and I just reached my 1 year since diagnosis!  Blood work has been great and I feel great!  I was diagnosed Triple Negative Stage 1A and I received a bilateral masectomy and had chemo. I had clear margins and no lymph node involvement. The only tests I had at diagnosis was a chest X-ray and breast MRI which were both clear. I never had any scans. They said I didn't need then due to my pathology report. Apparently the CDC doesn't recommend it. Well today my oncologist said he can order scans if I want them. At the time of diagnosis I wanted them but now I really don't. He said it is up to me and that he doesn't feel I need them but that he wanted to give me that option. So my question is, how many of you get scans?  Does anyone else not want them?  I am afraid of the radiation and false positives. The only test I would want is the breast MRI. I could use advice in what I should do. Thanks!

I had all my scanning done right after diagnose and prior to chemo treatment- my oncologist insists upon it - even as a  stage 1 with no nodes and no vascular seen.  After treatment is completed she does no scans unless there are specific symptoms or I really, really want one (yeah, right  - like I really, really want one!).  I was getting yearly breast MRI by my BS who also does my mammos and ultrasounds every six months, but then my insurance company went whacko and now refuses the yearly MRI's as they are "merely investigational" and because I am the only one in my family with BC.  Go figure.  These people are idiots.  We fought it to no avail.  That was probably the only scan that didn't make me feel as though I would die of a heart attack from the "scanxiety".  Wishing you nothing but the best, always.
